I have 6 cans in a room, I put 6 lightbulbs in and controlled them with a mini Google Nest that was only 4.5m from the farthest light source. Commands to toggle on/off, change color, or brightness only work with seemingly random lights and random times. At any given time I would have 6 lights with their own color, brightness and on/off status. It was fun and frustrating, I updated the firmware on all the bulbs, unplugged them and plugged them back in, no luck. I'll try Hue.
