We don't use this every day but we do use it when our dog with hounds is off leash. Only had to use the vibration once or twice, the beep is very effective now. Never had to use the stimulation button. Although it has a much shorter range than the expensive model carried by hunting dogs, this model has been subjected to the same abuses, including in the water through bushes etc. The batteries never run out but are usually recharged after they have been used more than once . a short period of time. Unlike the more expensive version, the buttons are intuitive and actually LABELED so you know which button does what.
