I have used a tankless pump for seven years with no maintenance. I noticed that it doesn't heat the water like it used to. I read the reviews and decided to do it myself. With a 5-gallon bucket, two wash hoses, two gallons of white vinegar, and an extra-up pump, I got to work. Leave on for 1 1/2 hours. The vinegar turned from clear to milky blue. After draining the vinegar and limescale, I ran the pump in clean water a few times to flush out the vinegar and clean the pump. Willing to do this every 18 months up to 2 years in the future. The hardest part was opening the lime-caked valves on a water heater. I gently poked them with pliers. After cleaning, I was able to open and close them manually.
