Review on Renewed Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in AT&T Cloud Silver, 128GB Storage by Anastazja Pluta ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

I took a gray one on exynos (Vietnam) for 44. A very nice device, a good universal working tool, very good "in meat" when you need to do a lot of small things very quickly on the run. In a stilgut leather book (I ordered it on the manufacturer’s website in Germany, with delivery about 3tr it turns out) it looks and feels solid - I don’t like glasses and stickers, and ordinary cases won’t save such a phone, and almost everything looks ugly. There were a lot of things before him, from the latest xiaomi mi max and mi 8, sgn9 seemed to me much better, but it is also more expensive. At first I was afraid of a screen that was curved at the edges, but then I got used to it and it’s cool - let’s say, compared to a flat screen, it’s visually better to consume content, but functionally it’s a little worse (side gestures from the edge you need to get the hang of doing + the stylus is uncomfortable to work around the edges, slips off). The stylus often helps out when you need to quickly throw a screen with small marks, cut it out in a figurative way, make free sketches or make a translation by highlighting / hovering over the picture. The phone is generally very convenient for students of hieroglyphic languages - a large screen, high resolution and a stylus. For the stylus, I forgive the phone for small jambs (of the major complaints, only the average battery endurance and the lack of call recording) and put 5 points.

Pros
  • Very good screen (clear, bright, colors are excellent), decent rather loud stereo sound, moisture and dust protection, stylus, nice and functional One UI shell (I rate it above MIUI10), dark mode is always on - it looks beautiful, Knox and security tools are very good, chic writes video 4k @ 60fps (limit 5 minutes, you can record twice for 5 minutes, then he will say that there will be overheating and the third five-minute recording will not work, you will have to wait a bit), writes stereo sound very decently. In auto mode, it almost always takes excellent photos the first time, if the illumination is acceptable. Good AKG earplugs included. Very good audibility of the interlocutor and me, including on the speakerphone. There are no cutouts, bangs and holes in the screen, I really don’t like them. One of the lowest SAR radiation values is 0.33 w / kg, for comparison, xiaomi mi 8 has 1.01 w / kg, iPhone XS Max has 12022 w / kg (the maximum allowable limit for state FCC certification is 1, 6 w/kg). Very fast and tenacious WiFi. I already wrote about One UI above, a very promising new shell from Samsung. Standard programs are quite functional (the file browser can go to google drive / one drive / samsung cloud clouds, the video editor is simple, the video player is cool and can instantly make 6-second gifs, the voice recorder is excellent with different modes and even with voice-to-text, the calendar is zoomed , from standard programs you can quickly make reminders from objects, etc.). With a stylus, you can remotely control your phone (certain actions in certain programs) - flip through slides in presentations, manage photo / video recording, switch audio tracks while sitting on the couch when the phone is connected to the DAC via USB, etc. One UI has a handy retractable sidebar where you can add app pairs for quick launch in split view.
Cons
  • Autonomy is not a fountain, 5-6 hours of the screen in total. I have enough for a day of normal use, but if you write a video or load a lot in the sun, then it will not be enough. 2 sims with poor reception eat a lot, but this is a common problem with many phones. Sometimes the desktop and the curtain stick, especially when the programs in Knox mode are running. The Dex mode is strange, until I figured out how to switch languages on the external keyboard (the expected behavior, taking into account Murtazin's explanations, does not correspond to the actual one). Complex adapters with usb-c phone does not have enough power to power, you need to power the adapter separately. GPS in terms of accuracy loses to dual-band in xiaomi mi 8. The compass either works fine, or it's buggy (both in mi 8 and in sgn9). Unfortunately, it does not write out of the box conversations directly from the line. Partially solved by programs, they write from microphones, as I understand it. Either change the region or sew. The range of the radio module is average (about the same level as xiaomi mi 8), it stalls in elevators outside the Hong Kong Ring Road. Even in the new One UI 1.0 shell, there are a number of small jambs, I'm sure they will fix it. I also hope that autonomy will be improved in the next versions of One UI.
