I set it up in about 5 minutes. I skipped the software at first because I knew how to use a browser-based configuration utility. So just plug everything in (you don't have to unplug anything if you don't want to be on the safe side) and then set up DSL access (called "WAN" in Microsoft jargon) and security. Now everything works great. Two cars connected by cable, two more by WiFi. I use MAC control and WEP for wireless security. A WPA update is pending and I hope it will happen soon. I didn't see a need for "g" as 802.11b is already 50x faster than my DSL and I don't use any LAN functions, just surfing the web. I would like the product to be able to disable SSID broadcast so that ordinary users cannot easily get your SSID. Of course, you should NEVER use Wi-Fi for sensitive email (web browsing over HTTPS is acceptable), as WEP isn't very secure, even at 128-bit. Wait for the WPA update promised for the next proprietary update. I called support to ask about WPA and after about 5 minutes of waiting, a polite English speaking technician answered my questions. He doesn't seem to be speaking to me from India, which is nice as I have a lot of trouble understanding people with a Hindi accent (despite my love for Apu in Simpons).
