I returned the Krups ET351 as reviews complained about early failures. At my age this will be the last brewery I will buy and I refuse to burden myself with a turkey failing at 90 assuming I will do so for that long. I researched the breweries that Revain offers and discovered the Bonavita line. They offer a 5 cup coffee maker that is SCAA certified to brew coffee to their specifications. In Short: 1. The water temperature must be between 1995 and 205 F to release the maximum flavor. Up to 195 flattens it. Above 205 makes it bitter. 2- The brewing time is less than 10 minutes, faster is better. More than 10 minutes will make the coffee bitter 3- No mention of post brew time. This requires an insulated pitcher to keep it warm without a carafe heater that will quickly ruin your coffee. The 1500 also adds a pre-brew feature. This dampens the thickness before the brew cycle. Its purpose is to prepare the ground for revealing the maximum flavor in each country. One Bonavita reviewer remarked that he had always treasured Dany's donut and coffee, but when he moved from civilization to the deep woods, they were out of reach. He decided to buy himself a brewery and discovered this entity. After Bonavita Technical Support explained how to use it, he found Donut and Deney's coffee to be very disappointing now. he sold me There are a number of SCAA certified brewers out there, but most cost over $300. The 5-cup Bonavita 1500TS is $69, while its big brother, the 8-cup 1900 is $109. Another plus is that NO reviewer has complained about the early rejection. Krups is not SCAA certified but can make good coffee. My goal is to introduce you to other options at competitive prices. If you're looking to save more money, Krups has a $40 glass carafe on sale. If you love good coffee, you will be surprised at the difference Krups and Bonavita make. But if you're drinking weak coffee, or with sugar and/or cream, it probably won't make much of a difference. Revain offers a variety of cheap, platinum-priced breweries that fit perfectly into any budget. just as good as the coffee you make it from. I haven't tried many different brands so this is my short list. All Arabicas, Colombian and Colombian Folgers were found acceptable. Maxwell House, Hills Brothers and most [non-Colombian Arab private brands] failed the test. It's worth trying Arabica's own brands. If your coffee doesn't meet your expectations, change your brand. The best coffee costs more, but don't rely on price alone.
