Review on ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Enhance Air Quality in Your BMW X5 with TYC 800031C Replacement Cabin Air Filter by Joseph Rasmussen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

What engineer thinks like that? Completely illogical.

Although I can mount the filter, there are problems. First, the instructions clearly state that the filter should be installed completely upside down. Down arrow with flipped text! What engineer thinks like that? Completely illogical. Other information on the web indicates that the airflow is up relative to the center of the earth and the car is right side up, not down. I set up arrow. Second, on the sides of the filter is a plastic "guide" with "channels" that fit into the grooves inside the box where the filter goes. Well on this TYC device the rails are locked at the ends when it needs to be opened so it will NOT slide without cutting. Third, the filter is wider than it should be, so it takes some effort to insert. Having said all that, I've decided to give it 3 stars as it seems like the filter is working. Complete set is not satisfied, but climbed with some effort. If it works as advertised I would buy it again now that I'm aware of the issues. You can get it without interrupting the channel.

Pros
  • cabin air filter
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
