My headset screen dimmed while gaming. I could still hear the game but there was no screen and then the headset went off. After trying to turn it back on, it shows the Oculus icon and then turns off again. I thought it was the headset itself. Tried restart and hard reset, no change. Changed batteries in the controllers, no change. It wasn't the headset battery that was new as it happened when the headset was fully charged. Then I thought maybe it was overheating and felt around the front of the headset and bingo! I took off the silicone case, turned on the headset and there is no more black screen of death. Was so disappointed that this was the reason as it is well made and looks amazing. But not everything looks. Unfortunately, it traps heat and causes the headset to overheat and shut down.
