Review on 🐦 Wagner's 62053 Nyjer Seed Wild Bird Food: Top-quality 20-Pound Bag for Optimal Bird Feeding by Edgardo Ennis

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor seed, dry, dusty, brown, not saturated Black color

I bought an expensive sock feeding kit because I get a lot of goldfinches for my No Waste come premium blends. Thought I'd grab a big 20lb bag of nyjer to fill all my socks and maybe get some more goldfinches - they are beautiful little birds. Not only did they not touch that Wagner Nayer, they stopped coming because I downsized the tube feeds to make room for my Sock City. Squirrels don't touch this seed, and no other bird has even tested it. I tried moving socks, underfilling or overfilling whatever I could think of, but it was like putting birdseed in to sort out the crowd, not attract them. Then on a whim I decided to try Nyjer from another big birdseed company that I bought from a local store. The goldfinches are back and there's a royal battle between them and the house finches for the place of the socks. This Wagner Nayer sack was clearly very bad. I'm not sure if it was a production issue or a storage issue but I will never buy from them again.

Pros
  • Ideal for use in finch feeders with smaller holes and tiny perches
Cons
  • Thin
