Great mounting straps

I needed to mount a large pair of solar panels (80" x 40", totaling about 120 pounds with brackets with brackets) on the roof of my SUV for a 650 mile trip. I wanted to secure the package securely and tie it down with little to no bouncing or shifting. I chose these straps for the job partly because they are a good 20 foot length and also because I noticed that the seller claims they are quality straps and buckles. Because these straps are made of polyester, they are strong and have some flex, but not as stretchy as nylon. In a way, this might seem like a disadvantage, since the contraction from the stretch can compensate for some slack if the load is released at all. On the other hand, if someone checks the load while driving, the stretching can make the load feel tight after it has loosened. In any case, it's always a good idea to retighten the straps after a few kilometers of riding, as some loosening can usually be expected. In any case, these straps and their stitching appear to be very strong, well made for their load range, and can be hand tightened very tight (within the strap tolerance) without the slightest problem. latch counts. The ratchet type is very convenient, so you can always tighten the straps without having to loosen or undo anything first. These ratchets work smoothly and engage firmly. The handle provides good leverage for very secure tightening, but they can be tightened as much or as little as possible without the ratchet or strap slipping. It's good to have a lot of freedom when tightening, and these ratchets can roll 12-13 inches of strap length without snagging. Smooth operation, tight or less tight, durable, reliable. In addition, the hooks on the straps are strong, deep and well-curved, so they are not easy to fall off, bend or break when you pull them. When the strap is properly tightened there is no visible sign of tension on the hooks Coating on the hooks holds up well. I am happy with these straps and am glad I don't have to deal with a sticky ratchet, lack of leverage, short strap ratcheting range, structural weakness (bending or breaking of parts), rough stamped metal, slippage, difficult release, etc. out of several Issues I've found with inferior mounts. The lifetime warranty and durable carry case is nice too. I'm just a buyer and user of this product and was looking for something that worked really well at a minimal price. I realize that just because I really like these bindings, I might sound like a salesman. I'm all too familiar with using webbing, somehow it works, um, pretty well.
