I immediately attached the drive to my home server, booted up the monitoring software (sintenel hard disk), and began copying the server's contents to the disk using the script. However, I got sidetracked for a while, and by the time I checked on the progress of the copy job, 2.5 TB had been copied at a much slower rate, and the disk temperature had risen to 59 degrees. I used robocopy, and it doesn't record actual speeds; it merely keeps score. I disconnected the disk right away to let it cool down. The following day, I double-checked each SMART criterion and found no discrepancies. except for one case wherein excessive heat is detected and a replacement disk is suggested by the program (and not sintenel). I attempted to drive surface tests, but Victoria does not comprehend the disk: although it writes a volume of 2 terabytes (TB), and it appears to see HD tune, and the test was successful, the reading visuals are linear and do not decrease as you approach the disk's last sector. The read delay ranges from 60 milliseconds to 200 milliseconds in roughly 10 sectors, which is not great but not catastrophic. I gave taking apart the box a shot, but it didn't go so well. very flimsy closures; I managed to break a handful. So long, guarantee. When I removed the disk and put it into the server (an HP MicroServer Gen8), it booted up immediately. If there are 3 disks in the basket, the disk won't get hotter than 42 degrees, and if there are only 2 disks, it won't get hotter than 37 degrees. It runs 2 TB faster and 7200 rpm than the Seagate, yet it's just 2 degrees hotter. And yet, for disk ventilation, in a plastic box? only approximately a tenth of the length is perforated on one side. There is no way that this could ever be used constantly. The air space between the disk and the box's plastic further hinders heat dissipation. The disk inside the box is set on rubber shock absorbers to protect it from damage in the event of a drop. Currently, the flight is routine and the operation time is two weeks. Conclusion. The disc works as intended, however the temperature must be regularly monitored.
