Was in the market to upgrade my aftermarket stereo. Unfortunately due to Covid my local stores have been sold out for quite some time. I was offered to buy something online and then install it at a local store. Of course I first looked for branded stereos but they were sold out like my local stores. I settled on something that would allow me to use Android Auto. I stumbled across this brand and loved the form factor and features. Reviews have been generally and mostly positive on all aspects of this single din stereo. What I like: - This device definitely makes my dated 2008 Honda Element look like my Model 3 brethren (well, at least a bit) - The screen is quite adjustable, I just wish it could be adjusted left and right. Includes GPS, Wi-Fi, multiple video and audio inputs. Also comes with microphone and pop filter. The charging time is actually very fast, there is no charging time when starting the car. - Screen is bright enough to be seen on a sunny day - Allows me to use Android Auto and Apple Carplay - Plays out loud What I dislike: - It plays too loud when connected to Android Auto - Im Basically I have ONLY 4 volumes to choose from. 1 is like a regular volume 6 or 7. 2 is like volume 8 or 9 and 3 goes into the distortion part of my little speakers (maybe I need to hook up an amp or something). When it's not connected directly to Android Auto via USB, the volume is normal and I can play at an acceptable volume. - Graphics are very similar to the 80's (equalizer is vintage at best) - Touchscreen isn't even very responsive - less responsive when the included screen protector is fitted - Bluetooth 2: Can't connect properly to my Pixel 5 (so only one can connect phone to be connected instead of the advertised 2 phones) - when making a call the device emits a strong static noise when answering a call or making a call (a kind of noise that makes you twitch like nails on a blackboard) - I wish it would have auto dimming or let me schedule time - Auto dimming feature for Google Maps and Waze DOESN'T work - Most features can't be used unless you spend more money (eg: rear camera - it doesn't come with the Camera supplied, save G oogle Play - Required to use mobile hotspot etc. - The device will not ht comes with a decorative overlay to hide the edges (I reused my old one). In general, I'm not very happy with it - but it's already installed and I'm too lazy to return it. I'll just use it until something else breaks or a better one comes along. I wouldn't recommend it for older cars at the moment. The limited functionality makes it completely unusable. I had high expectations based on the reviews. Well maybe I need to spend more money to have a better experience.
