This certified, ISO-accredited force gauge is unmatched in this price range. .It can be used both handheld and on a dyno. I don't have a set of officially certified weights, but I tested several weights with two different postal scales and the accuracy was comparable even with weights as small as a few ounces. The minimum weight is a bit difficult to describe. A digital sensor requires 0.1% of the sensor's maximum capacity to activate a non-zero device reading. So with the DFS100, the reading is 0 until at least 0.1 Newton or about 10 grams of weight is applied. In addition, the accuracy of the sensor may become less accurate when the load is less than 10% of the maximum capacity of the device. In other words: trust your needs. While I've had great results with just 1 or 2 ounces, the ideal strength range for testing the DFS100 is probably between 5 and 22 pounds. and of course you should never allow the total weight load to exceed the rated maximum. The LCD is large enough to read readings easily and has good legibility at fairly sharp viewing angles. The LCD display can also be inverted by pressing and holding the MENU button. when the device is turned on. The control buttons have a pleasant tactile click and are very well placed. Zeroing, resetting and switching between modes and units is very easy and intuitive. Charger or internal battery. The battery life is excellent. DFS can measure compression and tension forces in peak or real-time tracking mode. You can also adjust the pass/fail range if needed. I don't think it currently has the ability to test average powers over time e.g. B. by tearing off adhesive tape in the longitudinal direction. The sensor can store hundreds of readings in the device's internal memory. A very nice bonus is that Nextech sensors come with NO EXTRA software with free updates! The software was very easy to install. (1. Install USB driver, 2. Install plotter software, 3. Connect Nextech DFS device, 4. then start plotter software.) and handy alone, for my needs personally I prefer and enjoy using it with the included charting software (although I don't use Excel). There is a USB and a PS/2 output. The company is ISO accredited and the force sensor comes with a Nexttech calibration certificate. The DFS User Guide is available in printed, PDF and text format. I had several questions about the above and was very impressed with the excellent response and exceptional customer service. From company. The folks I've corresponded with at Nexttech have been absolutely top notch and I have faith that they will support their products.
