One of the reasons I bought it was the easy-to-use backup software it advertised. I was looking for something better than Windows 10. It was also highly rated by Revain. I've found that it comes with its own software as well as a number of other company programs that need to be installed. After installing three WD software packages, I found that their proprietary backup software could not recognize the backup drive even though Windows Explorer showed it was there. I tried resetting it and then reinstalling it. Still no luck. I called WD technical support, they offered me several options, but they could not solve the problem. They eventually said that Windows 10 had some issues with their software and recommended I use an operating system backup software, an option I tried to avoid. I've also found their other programs (security, tools) to be invasive and will use them with caution. Brief History - Buyers should beware unless you plan to use other backup software. I returned it for a refund and will buy another brand.
