So I first wanted to have good enough reception to be able to hear my favorite radio station next to mine. Not knowing where to start, I googled "best radio reception" and spent a lot of money on an online auction for a particular 1980's "super radio" known among radio amateurs for having the best reception. Imagine my disappointment when this radio came on and I couldn't listen to my favorite station. Big waste of money. I gave up and bought this Crosley believing that if I couldn't get the reception I wanted, I could at least get something cool and just have to settle for local stations. Guess what? My favorite train station (75 miles from my house) is great for Crosley. And they don't even position it as a big move. JUNE 7, 2015: Update: Still works fine and I'm still very glad I bought it. LOVE IT.
