Review on 🐎 Optimized Dressage Shoulder Relief Girth by Total Saddle Fit by Bam Reeder

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This strap is fantastic. It's really well made

This is a fantastic harness. It's really well done. I like the strong English bridle leather on the outside and the soft calf leather on the inside. So far the gum has held up very well. I like the holders over the buckles to keep the pieces from moving too much. It's advertised as a dressage harness, but as you can see I use it with a triathlon saddle with a valve. I haven't noticed any stiffness unless people are referring to the outside of the strap which is strong and very strong and I really like that. My horse is usually a bit picky about girths (hates anything that's neoprene) and you can see he needs absolutely no shoulder relief, but I've noticed a difference with him. This allows the saddle to move further back and as this is a huge mare of four-legged origin (36-37cm at the withers) this allows the use of a saddle that is too narrow to fit more comfortably (we are still working remember to choose the right one!). She has never had elbow chafing (although she is one of the few horses I know with dry elbows) and it suits her beautifully. To help with sizing - she's 15.2-15.3 hands and 30" in circumference in these photos (yes, she's THAT wide). I could probably go with 28 inches but I like the way it sits. In the first photo we haven't ridden yet, and at the end of the ride in the second photo he crawled through the hole on each side. But I like the quality of this strap. It's amazing. If you are looking for a very good quality leather strap that is worth the price then you have come to the right place.
