I gave it a 5 even though it doesn't lay flat on its own. I knew that before I bought it, so I have nothing to complain about. It will lie flat if the distance between the top and bottom supports is tight enough, in other words it has enough flexibility to flatten out. I use two of these on my CNC machine for cable management. Adding or removing links is very easy. . Use a smaller flathead screwdriver and try both sides, one of which breaks easily and should always be started with. Then turn the other side out. I even added links with wiring inside the chain. No problem. Very good value for money.
