So, to start with, I originally made a homemade curing unit that was "good". It worked, it was cheap, so I didn't want to try anything else. The more I learned about resin printing the more I wanted to try a different solution that wasn't too expensive as I had a working solution but an improvement over my current setup. it is a try. Until now I didn't realize what useful and secure features I was missing in my homemade solution. It takes a little while to assemble the box, but it's not that bad. Just be patient while removing the protective cover from all sides. After assembling and testing it, I don't think I can go back to my homemade solution. First of all, a timer switch is extremely useful. Of course you can just use your phone or something, but having it built into the box and turning off the UV light when it's timed is a very useful feature as you can set the time and do something. knowing that it will turn off after a certain amount of time. Also nice safety features include a door and a door switch that automatically turns off the light when the door is opened. My homemade solution didn't have a lid, so it wasn't the best solution in terms of eye protection (although I've never looked into the light, so it wasn't a huge issue for me, but you know what I mean). Overall this is a great pickle machine for the price, a little fiddly to assemble (but not too bad) and works as it should. This is a huge improvement over my previous solution in terms of security, automatic timing, and rotating platform.
