Works perfectly! - Car Video

VJOYCAR V70 OBD2 works fine after one month. My Notes: It took several scans to find my (2004, older?) OBDII communication protocol. I may have had the key on but didn't start on the first try. So if you don't see more than the "Voltage" indicated, try disconnecting the OBDII connector and starting the engine or vice versa. - Like my 14 year old. Scangauge is a replacement, the voltage shown seems to be low, at least when the engine is not running. After a connection issue (above) I realized that it's showing the voltage coming in through the OBDII connector, not what the ECM sees and could potentially report the PID (I don't know). This is not a problem, just something to be aware of. I really needed to see the engine temp (GM Duramax Diesel LLY and dashboard readings are very inaccurate). It got to the point where I couldn't read the old faded LCD on my scangauge. The V70 display is AWESOME! Very bright. Even better, it has a light sensor so it dims a bit at night. Better still, it allows me to use 2 corners of the display for temperature so I can see it at a glance even if one has reflective highlights (or hell I'm looking at the wrong one). - I deducted 1 star because it has external blue and amber lighting. I just want to see the numbers. For now I've used black tape to hide all but the 5 white digital displays (which I find very legible). Okay this makes it so you can't use the menu or code read/reset functions but I can just remove the band to do this. One day I'll make a prettier cover. Or how about adding configuration features to enable/disable something? I also really like the tilt mount so you can adjust it up/down if needed to avoid glare.
