Review on 5X20Mm 3 15A Slow Blow Ceramic T3 15A by Badpuppy Warton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

These are the correct fuses for the Bugera 333XL Infinium guitar amp.

After the power amp tube shorted out in my Bugera 333XL Infinium amp I really didn't know what the problem was, why it wouldn't work, even after I replaced the tubes with new ones I figured I'd have to take it to the shop for a few weeks to have it repaired, but it occurred to me the next day to check the fuse with a multimeter, on the contrary to a glass fuse you cannot visually tell if a ceramic fuse is blown and only instrument testing or simply replacing will tell you if it is blown. As you are not an electronics guy and prefer glass fuses simply because you can see straight away , whether the filament is broken I decided to write Bougueret first and ask if there would be a problem with it I've been searching the internet for an answer to the question of whether there is a difference between ceramic fuses and class fuses with the same rating in terms of their performance or circuit security. Eventually I came across an article that explained that the reason for using ceramic fuses is that they can handle large voltage spikes like those found in power amplifiers without burning out whereas glass fuses cannot handle those surges at all and will blow immediately, when an overvoltage occurs. So if your amp has a ceramic fuse, it must be replaced with another ceramic fuse of the same rating. That's why I ordered them. Ironically Bugera customer service responded and the person who responded said they didn't understand why one couldn't just use a glass fuse when they had the same rating, so of course I had to respond and explain that this is incorrect information and Will cause people to have problems with fuses blowing in their amps and end up being diagnosed as "Service Required" even though it was just the wrong fuse put in the amp that couldn't handle large voltage spikes and a link to one You can read the article about it yourself. arrived, I immediately installed one in the amp and was very happy when it switched on again. With a fresh set of Mullards to avoid further problems with a previous set shorted out with a bright flash on one of them as soon as I turned to check my settings the amp has been running fine ever since. for all. So if you have one of those great Bugera 333XL Infinium amps, be sure to grab them and keep them handy just in case. ;-)
