It's cardboard and pretty basic. It was easy to assemble with the included screws and small nails. It's exactly what I expected, so I got what I paid for. The packaging was TERRIBLE. When I opened the bag there were thousands of little pieces of styrofoam strewn all over the floor so I took the bag outside and thousands more spilled all over the patio. Glad I had my daughter to clean up the mess otherwise I wouldn't have given 5 stars.
