Review on GM Genuine Parts 22807122: High-Quality Heating & AC Blower Motor Resistor by Alfonso Tipton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Midsummer and 1 and 2 fans.

Midsummer and 1st and 2nd fan speed on my selector stopped working on my 2000 Silverado. Although Revain had cheaper options, I went with a genuine GM part because I didn't want any problems. Installation was relatively easy. Unscrew the three plate screws, remove the plate, unscrew the two screws holding the resistor and disconnect the wiring. Connect the wiring to the new resistor. The plug is keyed so there should be no question how to connect it. Here's a little trick. I have noticed that a number of reviewers have given this product 1 star and say it is not suitable. It must be understood that although this part is a direct replacement, it is oriented slightly differently. You will need to rotate it so it fits and the screw holes line up properly. Replacing the plate was a bit of a hassle due to the screw over the transmission tab. There is very little room to work, which made it difficult to reinsert the screw. One trick you can use is to put the screw in a small socket that connects to a 1/4"3" socket extension. Wrap a piece of electrical tape or a similar product around the socket so that the edge of the tape extends just past the end of the socket, bend the tape so that it holds the screw panel in place along with it falling out of the socket.
