    2001 GMC 1500HD Fan Resistor

Fan RPM 5 was missing over a year ago. 1-4 passed last week, the day the mercury dropped to -5 degrees. A mechanic friend of mine said it was probably the fan resistance so I checked my car's Revain shop who gave me a matching AC DELCO part and with PRIME I had it in my hands in two days. YOUTUBE gave me a craft and after about an hour I pulled out the broken part and installed a new one. Unfortunately only 1-4 worked the first time but after replacing the blown 25 amp fuse under the hood 5…

I thought it failed, I was wrong.

I need to correct my review. I put it in my 2005 Silverado and it didn't last long. I ordered another one, installed a new one and had the same problem. That unit turned out to be fine, and the wiring harness from the truck to that resistor was bad. When I replaced the wiring harness, I solved my problem. This resistor fits perfectly in my 2005 Silverado 1500 cockpit. It was easy to install and works well. Now all 5 fan speeds work. It looked almost identical to the originally fitted resistor…

    PUT IT BACK!

Bought, pulled old one out, but new one didn't fit. The original part had a large circuit board mounted at an angle to the right with a large connector. After looking at it and looking for one similar to the original, I found that the replacement is designed to be installed backwards and it will fit and work. Perfect. The larger bushing was on the left side on the original, but should be on the right side on the replacement. Two other tips: don't start until you have a 5.5mm socket or wrench…

Hooray, I've got a fever again!

Well it's a fan motor resistor so it gets 5 stars because it works lol. I installed this in my 04.5 Duramax Silverado (Ex Cab) and it fits as mine uses 2 bolts instead of 4. You will need a 7mm and an extension to remove the skid plate piece under the fan motor (2 7mm screws) then a small screwdriver to remove the 2 electrical connectors then hold 2 8mm screws this resistance in place. Use some Electric Die Grease on the joints before putting it back together and you'll be good! If you are…

    EXCELLENT for 2 months.

original part no longer functional after 13 years (no stage 1 or 2). I bought this resistor (therefore I restored all 5 speeds) and after 2 months the 5th speed stopped working. I called ACDelco and they said "Call Revane." Revain.com replaced it with no question and gave me 1 day shipping. Revain gets a lot of credit. Now diagnose if replacing this part will solve your problem. The pins are marked with AG. With the part removed and your key in the accessory position, connect a 12v multimeter…

    Works great in 2002 Tahoe

My mother's 2002 Tahoe stopped working at fan speeds 1 and 2. Only 3-5 worked. Everyone says that this is often caused by the resistance of the fan motor. Access panel removed and checked. The original part number was 15305077. From what I've read this is a new replacement part for that part number. One weird thing about installing this new part is that it looks like you are putting it in backwards. Old part installed. As far as I can tell it only fits properly in one case so you can't go…

Midsummer and 1 and 2 fans.

In the middle of summer, both the 1 and 2 fan speeds on my selector switch stopped working on my 2000 Silverado. Although Revain had cheaper options, I went with a genuine GM part because I didn't want any problems. .Installation was relatively easy. Unscrew the three plate screws, remove the plate, unscrew the two screws holding the resistor and disconnect the wiring. Connect the wiring to the new resistor. The plug is keyed so there should be no question how to connect it. Here's a little…

    Pretty good. for heating

I spent extra money on this Delco AC part, supposedly genuine. I could pay about half that for another well rated product. I say supposedly because that's NOT my factory part. Don't get me wrong, it works and it's good, but it's still not OEM. If you purchase and install this part, if your installation is similar to mine, you must install this part backwards from the original factory part. If you examine the OEM part and this one you will notice that the mounting tabs are angled. If you study…

    Fixed my heater problem

The HVAC fan in my 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 only ran at speed 1-4 and speed 5 seemed dead. I checked all the fuses, including the relay, everything is fine. Did some research and found that the HVAC fan motor resistance and/or its wiring harness (melting) could be the cause. This block has 2 connectors and both looked good. The HVAC fan motor worked fine, I haven't checked the HVAC fan motor but I've never had any other issues so I figured the resistor was just old. I was lucky that this…
