As a retired teacher-turned-private tutor, I love this basic blockset of 10. Unlike other sets I've seen, there are more than enough flat surfaces, staffs, and individual cubes. While some reviewers have mentioned that they prefer a multi-color set, I prefer a single color. Students must identify each piece by its correct name, not by color. This, in my experience, leads to a quicker understanding of the value of the place and a regrouping. I have no issues with the storage box as others have mentioned. Everything just fits! The companion book is a great addition and provides additional support for a number of mathematical concepts. Overall great price!
