Review on Heininger 4037 HitchMate TruckStep Pick Ups by Seth Waldron

I installed this product on a 2015 Ram 3500. It was difficult for me to get anything into the back of the truck and almost impossible to get into the back of the truck. I needed a step with a large carrying capacity because I am a tall man. The train seems strong and very well made. The hitch on my truck is a Class 5 with a 2 1/2" bore. I used a Class 5 to Class 4 single step hitch adapter. The bolt that was included was long enough to go through the hitch, adapter and the step itself.The supplied bolt is a grade 8 so I tightened it to 100ft-lbs and the step does not rattle or dangle in the hitch hole.I have used the step several times in all extension positions.It is very strong and i'm sure it will support my weight.Once again, I'm a tall man and if he can handle my weight, that's more than enough for the rest.The step is easy to use and intuitive for most people .My son who has never read instructions was able to use the step in seconds just by looking at it.I highly recommend this step especially for those who don't use their hitch often.I use my truck with a fifth wheel so that it fits my needs perfectly. If you often tow a trailer with a bumper, perhaps one more step is right for you. However, I haven't found another stage with a 500lb capacity.
