Good durable coating but I use it to cover the terrace for the winter. According to the description it is waterproof. It may have originally been waterproof, but after a couple of violent winter storms I would use the word "waterproof" instead. Some water does seep through the plating and I've also noticed a few small holes, probably due to ice covering the plating from time to time. Again, if you're not dealing with harsh weather and don't need total waterproofing, this is still a good case. If you need something totally waterproof in inclement weather, another, possibly more expensive, option might be better.
