Bought these to get out of my living room chair and back into my bed after my breast reduction surgery. Used them as bumpers next to me on each side to keep me from tipping over. We have a queen bed and my husband still had room to sleep on the bed when I used them (tried to use regular bed pillows but they were so wide he had to sleep on his side because it was the rest of the bed). room was). . They don't slip, are comfortable and firm, but give way under pressure. I found that when I could move at a slight angle to my side they acted as a support behind my back to cheer me up and it was very comfortable. I was able to lift my shoulder off the bed and lean on my hip a little bit and tuck it under my back on the side where my shoulder was over the bed and it worked like a little brace. This allowed me to lie on my back and find some relief in a different position. Not horizontally on your back but not completely on your side to avoid risking your cuts or injuries while healing. I sleep on my side and this has really helped. They were strong enough to offer a few inches of support but were still very comfortable. I've tried them under my feet while sitting in bed watching TV and they worked great too!
