I use the two-step method, especially if you have bugs that have been in your home for a while. walk about a foot or two at a time. Spray a little cleaner on the selected area and a few times on a clean paper or terry towel. and wipe off immediately. This removes easily accessible bugs and debris while exposing hard-to-remove items. Spray again to re-hydrate the area. Give it a few seconds to work.
