The part that holds the iPad is fine - it grabs the edges but still allows access to the volume on/off button buttons and the charging connector. Even the camera is free to use. Thanks to its full height, the device can be positioned while sitting or lying down. It is convenient for surfing the web or playing games and can be positioned for watching movies/videos. Use it while standing in the kitchen to read recipes while you cook, or show off your music apps and use it as a music stand. The thing is, it's pretty convenient. If only the base of the stand was stronger. Mine broke so I used 1x2 oak and a shelf to replace 3 legs. Now it is solid and even beautiful, stable and comfortable.
