Review on πŸ”§ Enhance Tire Monitoring with Denso 550-0103 TPMS Sensor - A Reliable and Accurate Solution by Ken Arellano

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked without incident, don't go to the dealer!

Local Brand Tire Shop installed all 4 tires and programmed them in 30 minutes for $15/tire including balancing. The Toyota dealership charged $110 just for programming and installing the tires separately. A few months ago I was told the whole job would cost $700-800. Worked with no issues and my flashing TPMS light was gone! Tire shops (not dealers) typically charge $60 per tire fitted, so not a huge savings was made. but I'm glad I have the same brand parts that originally came with Toyota. If you have a faulty sensor or two, it's best to only replace those, as others can last for many years. It might be better for the tire changer to replace their sensor when they only charge $60 for an installed sensor, unless you want to spend a lot of time troubleshooting and going back and forth. As far as troubleshooting TPMS flashing, depressurize your tires 20-24psi for each tire one at a time. Whichever tire is flashing amber, that tire's sensor is working fine (because it's signaling the TPMS that I had low pressure). Inflate that tire to a normal level and move on to the next tire. This method can also rarely wake up idle sensors that have stopped transmitting for some reason.
