Review on Duex Portable Monitor Extender Compatible with 60Hz Refresh Rate by Jamal Armstrong

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I liked the concept, the setting was disappointing, the image could be brighter/brighter.

I LOVE this idea. When I opened the box I was impressed with what I saw. I scanned the QR code while waiting for a professional installation guide, but received only a short video that strangely had no sound. The instructions (which require VERY big improvements) state that the screen should be placed at the top center of the laptop. Here's what I did. When I moved it (and yes, the magnets moved fully), a few inches of the monitor was hidden behind my laptop. I was very disappointed because I followed the instructions. I removed the magnets from the top of my computer and reattached the monitor halfway between the center of the monitor and the actual edge of my monitor. Guess what... that wasn't enough either. I removed the magnets and finally reattached the monitor to the very edge of my laptop. It barely worked. Yes it was completely shifted, magnets and all. In the meantime, the magnets have lost their adhesive properties, which is why the monitor fell off the laptop. Now it just sits next to my laptop. Not what I meant. The instructions really need to be more specific and precise. And if they only provide a short video, it has to be with sound. Check out the image where I had to place it on my laptop to barely see the entire screen. My next problem is the brightness and saturation of the screen. Look at my photo of two blank Word documents open side by side. The MS Word theme color is blue. You can see the blue fill on both sides of the blank white document. On the Duex monitor, the blue fill is gray and not that bright. I think that's a good example of what I'm seeing in general. Brightness and saturation are lacking compared to my almost 10 year old laptop. I thought since this monitor is new and my laptop is so old I would be amazed at the picture quality but I am not. Maybe I'm expecting too much. However, I think the whole concept of such a screen is awesome. His technique is brilliant. The installation instructions were so bad that I had to set the thing up and couldn't use it properly. The picture quality is good, but not as good as my old laptop.
