Review on Penclic N3 Office 22-Key Programmable ControlPad With Macro Keys For PC & Mac - Faster Data Entry, Affordable Stream Deck Alternative by Mark Raj

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not recognized at boot by my BIOS; can't program with media Play/Pause key

I needed a little basic keyboard with f2 and f10 keys and cursor keys so I could control my PC's boot (change drive). It was convenient to program two of this keyboard's keys with f2 and f10 (and I tested them in apps) but for some reason my PC still doesn't spot the keyboard during boot so I'm stuck with a (second) full sized keyboard to control boot. It's a cute little keypad apart from that. My primary use is a bit odd so it still deserves a fair rating EXCEPT the media key options for programming (keys like volume up/down/mute/play-pause) don't include play-pause. That was the only button than would have been useful to me and it's not offered. So this is pretty poor as a programmable keyboard from my perspective, making it about twice the price it should be for a more or less non-programmable keyboard.

Pros
  • COMPATIBILITY - Plug-and-play setup for PC. *Can work on Mac but programming must be done using a PC. Go to Downloads on our website for software.
Cons
  • Inconsistencies with software updates could cause potential compatibility issues
