Nice clear display at a good price

I've been using this monitor for a few weeks now and am very happy with it. The 24-inch screen is sharp and detailed, and the backlighting is even. It works perfectly with my Late 2013 MacBook Pro. The monitor comes with both HDMI and DisplayPort cables, but since my MacBook Pro requires a Mini DisplayPort cable, I also have the StarTech.com 1m 3ft White Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 Bought M/M to DisplayPort 4k with HBR2 support – Mini Cable DP to DP In hindsight I should have bought the black version of this cable to match the back of the monitor but the cable worked great. Colors from the packaging were a bit washed out at first. The pastel colors were almost white. But after going through Apple's calibration process (System Preferences > Display > Color > (Option-click) Calibration > Expert Mode), the display has rich colors and perfectly matches my MacBook Pro's built-in display. I also had to change my audio output settings to use the MacBook Pro's built-in speakers since this monitor doesn't have its own speakers. The 24-inch size is very comfortable on my desk—about 4 inches wider than a full-size keyboard—and the perfect size to get 3840 x 2160 retina resolution. I also use a Windows 10 display in Boot Camp to play games and there it is. That works fine too. I sometimes have an issue where the monitor goes black after sleeping, but alt-tab to another window (for some reason) wakes up the display and everything is fine. I think it's a Windows problem, not a display problem. I like the little inverted joystick button at the bottom of the monitor for changing monitor settings. I find it easier to use than the multi-button settings found on other monitors, and the onscreen overlay makes it clear how to navigate the menus. Good design. The stand fits me, but you can only change the angle, not the height. The stand bounces around a bit which can be annoying if your table wobbles, but my table is stable enough that this isn't a problem. and sometimes games.

Pros
  • HDMI 2.0 (x2) and DisplayPort
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than other picks.
