First. This is a high quality item that looks aesthetically pleasing and puts out much more light than just UVB T5. My biggest gripe with this product is that it obviously focuses on the best lighting options, but lacks a good timer system. The T5 has its own cord and it's easy to connect a simple timer switch to it. However, LED blocks have two switches (one switch is three-position, white, off, white/red, the other is blue, off) with a wire. Most fish LED systems have at least one additional timer to program different light on and off modes. This all has to be done manually. Either you set this unit on a timer and everything you turn on will turn on/off, or you manually turn on/off the white, white/red and blue lights. This article needs an automatic method to accompany the beautiful design.
