Doesn't work. When the SD card is inserted, it flickers between the file explorer window and the error message window. The error messages start with complaints about the file header and then say "invalid directory name". At the end it reports that the folder is empty. This error occurred with several SD cards that worked fine in my cameras. With my "old" USB 2.0 card reader from SSK, all these SD cards can be read without any problems. This is happening on my Surface 3 and another laptop running Windows 10. I don't know if it's a device defect or a compatibility issue. Update #2 6/19/2017: Out of curiosity, I ordered USB 3.0 from Anker at a lower price. I have a device that works great with my Surface 3/Windows 8.1. From one start to two now. Updated #1 on 6/14/2017: After the above review, Sabrent emailed me asking for more details that I couldn't think of. So they sent me a new device that worked the same as the first one. This prompted me to try this on my Windows 10 laptop. I should have done this earlier, but I only did it with an SD card, not a USB reader. Works without problems on a laptop. So the current conclusion is that this USB 3.0 works with Windows 10 but has problems with Surface 3 or Windows 8.1. Don't know who's to blame at this point, but added two stars anyway.
