I really wanted to like them. They matched my flat clothing set and I really needed steak knives so based on the great reviews I thought I'd give them a try. I just received them and the first thing I tried to cut, which is the most common thing we cut at my house, was an apple. These knives are terrible for apples, only slightly better than a butter knife. The handle is too thin making it difficult to grip and the blade just isn't sharp. I hate those serrated blades and I know better, but I trusted the reviews. Big mistake. I once bought two steak knives a few years ago, I think my husband brought them home. They may not be expensive, but these are the best knives. You cut apples like butter. I use them for almost everything. That's what I was looking for in these knives. Something that cuts through everything. Ah, the search continues.
