An excellent balance of style and functionality. Very satisfied.

I am comparing this bag to my other favorite bag, the Baggallini Avenue Tote. Both pouches:* LIGHT when empty. Since I end up lugging so many things, I don't want my bags to weigh a ton to begin with. * Waterproof/stain-resistant fabric. (Not sure if this is listed as such but they don't get as much markup as other bags) *They look very nice without the leather/leather price tag. In other words, a cheap bag for a nice bag.* They pack well.* Strong and reliable hardware. Bags are always the first to break zippers and clasps. They are easy to wear.* Various beautiful colors to choose from.* Multiple inner and outer pockets. -- I really like the metal versions of Kipling bags. They add such a beautiful shimmer to a neutral color. Makes a practical bag more interesting.* The zippers are thicker at kipling. I find that they close more gently. Time will tell if they hold up as well as Baggallini (whose zips still work)* Bags - there is a zipped main compartment and 2 magnetic pockets on either side of the main compartment (so 3 compartments 1 large, 2 thinner) and 3 other zipped pockets: one outside + one in the main compartment. It also has multiple pen/wallet pockets in the main compartment. (I hope that made sense). *Very good for your wallet, keys, glasses, toiletries, cell phone and book/laptop * Shoulder or crossbody carry - the shoulder straps are a bit small for me (I'm 5'9"), but wearing a crossbody is great to wear freely hands * The straps are very comfortable * A little "younger" or youthful or "fresher"? than Baggallini Baggallini looks like a lady bag chick bag (Chick bag? Is that even anything? I don't know (That's what sounds stylish to me.)** HANDLEBAG is a great pocket size - it's big enough to comfortably fit a Moleskien notebook and paperback (iPad size) Pictures Sometimes I like it, but other days I want to you just don't need to bring a huge bag. There are other Baggallini bags that are also even bigger Kipling bags (tbook), 2 outside pockets with magnet closure, a small inside pocket with zip, a small outside pocket with zip and pen pockets.* I like the behavior nis MUCH better from size to bag of Kipling bag. Kipling bags have ALL pockets. Baggallini has pockets but they seem to be thinner. Also, many Baggallini bags don't close well - for example, they have a large pocket with a clasp. Things fall out easily, I say that. Kipling is holding up better.* Baggallini looks more "matronil". ish. I think. Kipling looks a little younger.* Has a shine but not the shine of Kipling. Against Kipling: It's silly, but I'm sad it was with a metal monkey and not the fluffy old-style Kipling. a monkey. I liked those fluffy monkeys (well, no reason for a grown woman to buy a bag, but still. Monkeys!) In general, I really like the bag. From now on I will most likely only get bags from Kipling and Baggallini. Oh! One final note - visit the Kipling website even if you're buying a bag here. They have a great try on feature where you can see how big the bags are compared to your height, laptop size, etc. Very helpful to make a decision.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
