This product really works, but there's a trick to putting it together. If you just take two pieces, turn them over and try to put them together on a flat surface, this won't happen. The trick is to insert the top hinge at an angle so that the first of the 4 latches sort of clicks into place, allowing the pieces to stand upright as in the finished product, and then clicks further into place. Once the pieces are in their final position, they fit together as if by magic. This should be the corner of the subject. Trying to do this with the characters on their side is just an exercise in frustration. This collar is smaller than the others and I actually used it under a wooden skirt to hide part of the fake pole.
