Review on JDS C 88Quake Earthquake Alarm by William Burnett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Simply the best in the Safety & Protection category

5 stars for an affordable wobbly toy. Likes: Affordable price, long battery life, works. Dislikes: Velcro issue but I solved the falling off wall issue by taking the battery cover off, then threading a long but small/narrow screw through the small hole in the battery compartment that was cut into the battery cover, then I just put one little i install the battery in the battery compartment without the battery cover. Now I'll never fall off the wall again. Add: I put a few dots with a mark on the sensitivity adjustment knob to ease the weeks it took me to adjust the sensitivity by letting the dots serve as a guide as the knob is small and stiff which I rely on about if I did I don't get a turn or miss I tried. more active areas with higher magnitude earthquakes. Now I've set it up to use random ringing to confirm earthquakes online - when (time), where (location) and magnitude, for closer active regions. At first I set it too sensitive and I think maybe a little acclimatization at home caused the ringing. I have to hook one up to the fridge and the other to the microwave just to annoy my wife when she slams the doors. Note: I have two small dogs. When the bell rings, one runs to the other end of the house, the other barks. Barker helps me figure out if I'm sleeping because I have an earthquake alarm on the other side of the house from the bedroom. I hear it (he looks away and down the hall) but the pager immediately shuts off and I have to tell her "okay, okay" to turn the pager off. So when I'm sound asleep, she makes sure I know if the noise is calling. Living in an active earthquake, what's not to like? there are never many toys - my wife thinks differently.
