Simply the best in the Safety & Protection category

5 stars for an affordable wobbly toy. Likes: Affordable price, long battery life, works. Dislikes: Velcro issue but I solved the falling off wall issue by taking the battery cover off, then threading a long but small/narrow screw through the small hole in the battery compartment that was cut into the battery cover, then I just put one little i install the battery in the battery compartment without the battery cover. Now I'll never fall off the wall again. Add: I put a few dots with a mark on…

it works but is difficult to set up

This is a simple alarm that detects vibrations, particularly those caused by earthquakes. This is a simple but effective mechanical design where the brass rod/pendulum hangs freely and with enough movement/vibration touches the sides of the brass V-notch/triangle around it (see photos of my review). It really works! in Security & Safety

This earthquake alarm is very reliable if you install it properly. Yes, it needs to be calibrated and will take some time to work properly, especially if you are not in an active seismic area. I installed it in Mexico City and after a month I found that even in El Salvador there were earthquakes. The alarm makes a loud but not annoying sound.
