I'm trying to break the habit of using those yellow, green-sided disposable sponges for cleaning, so I'm always looking for a good reusable option. Although these sponges are quite large and very soft, they don't have a scrubbing texture and unfortunately my first sponge broke. It caught on the edge of the plastic cover and broke! It wasn't like I was cleaning a cheese grater or knife, I was washing a plastic container! Now I mainly use them to wash things like wine glasses, water bottles and acrylic pieces that are easy to scratch. I've even used them to peel apples and other foods and found them to do a really good job of removing the wax coating from foods. They definitely have their good points, they lather up great with very little soap, they're very soft and don't scratch, but for me they don't replace a sponge, I still need something stronger for tougher cleaning jobs.
