I am constantly on the lookout for high value alternatives to expensive, name brand gear and clothing.This winter I have been focusing on my winter/snow camping gear. I ordered this thinking it would be a decent, warm mid-layer.The fleece material is comfortable and stretchy, the zippers and stitching seem to be of decent quality. I really like that it zips up to almost form a turtle neck which helps keep in warmth, and the drawstring on the hood allows for excellent fitting.I much prefer synthetics to cotton for outdoor activities as they still offer some insulation when they are wet.There are only a couple of things I don't really like about this hoodie:The sleeve cuffs are pretty loose. They don't hold in much heat.Overall, while the material seems nice and thick, it's not really all that warm.my regular cotton hoodie is substantially warmer.When worn under an outer layer, (shell, rain jacket, etc), it's fine, but on its own, it left me feeling a little chilly.
