An excellent basic tool that is easy to transport. The clamping depth is quite accurate. You need to protect the surfaces from the metal clip - I think it works best for wood. I use it on a mid-century enameled table with wood corner blocks under the table top. I keep space between the side of the clamp and the edge of the table. It worked well. Definitely need a good height and enough non-slip surface for the clamp to work with a lot of power. Cons: The stylus could be a bit thicker, the yoke was difficult to slip through the hole and into place, the V-notch is a bit wider than I would like.
