Sounds like a signal problem on the weaker end. The connector is quite tight (I've tried several head units, the connector on the antenna). The crimp is weak and my application required frequent plugging and unplugging (main unit check). After about 40 insertions and removals, the connector failed and I had to plug in a new end. Works like an antenna. Does what it should. Just bad with weaker signals.
