To be honest I bought this mainly to play my SACD discs and not to watch DVDs. I've seen some on this one, z was good. Here's a word of caution for those buying this to listen to SACD discs like me, although this will play them it won't work if the SACD disc was burned from an ISO file, don't know why but it does will ' Doesn't work on my ISOs, but worked fine with the ones I burned from a music file (FLAC). Although the speakers are small, they sound good and you can always pair 2 devices together and work with 4 speakers.
