Decent pens and a wide range of colors

First of all, I'm not a professional artist, just an avid colorist. The pencils I know best are Prismacolor Premiers, Black Widows and Castle Art. Are they as bright as Prismascolors? Yes. Do they mix like Prismas? No pencils merge like Prismas. I feel like this mix is similar to Castle Arts even though I only used it on 1 side. With this set you get many shades of blue, green, purple and brown. I was a bit disappointed with the low amount of yellows and oranges and there aren't many really dark dark colors or really light shades so you have to add black and white to get that high contrast, or complement another brand of pencil. The picture I colored with these pens (except for the background and the bugs, which were watercolors) was in a Jade Summer coloring book and I couldn't get the pen to cover all of the white paper no matter how much I polished. I had to use a clear blender to achieve the coverage (I have a clear Prismacolor blender and it worked fine). I'm curious to see how these pens perform on different papers. They produce a lot of wax, more than my other pencils including Prismas. No big deal, just thought I'd pass it on. I had to sharpen them more often than my Black Widows, so these pencils didn't last as long. Overall I'm happy with these. I look forward to it, to play with them again. Hope this helps :) UPDATE I use them more often and they blend beautifully on most types of paper. I love bright colors and these pens are fun to work with. They need frequent sharpening, but you won't regret buying them.
