It's best to install them before you put the dishwasher in the hole but if like me you've added them to a previously installed dishwasher that was already installed after we installed the granite countertops had. They slipped some work, my vision was a problem. The bracket works well and is strong enough to hold a 3 year old child standing on the dishwasher door with ease.
