Review on ๐Ÿ”ง RockShox 2012 Recon Silver Solo Air - Easy Maintenance Kit by Brian Nelson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked on 2011 Rockshox Recon Silver TK.

I completely rebuilt a 2011 Recon Silver TK Solo Air. I have not serviced the plug at all in the last nine years. Then I plucked up the courage to study and, at the end of 2020, successfully completed a 200-hour maintenance for the first time. Every detail was suitable for restoration. The bike stand was very helpful. I recommend using the right tool to install dust collectors. Additionally, the nylon picks played a crucial role in removing the old O-rings. You will also need plenty of 5w outboard oil and some 15w oil. You also need Rockshox oil, that is, lubricant. Isopropyl alcohol for cleaning parts. Nitrile gloves to protect hands from chemicals. Torque wrench, 5mm bit and 24mm socket. Although the service manual does not recommend using a rubber mallet on the arch of the foot to forcibly remove the lower legs, I had no choice as all other methods failed. As long as you are careful, the plug will not be damaged. Be sure to locate the appropriate service manual on the Rockshox website and/or Trailhead app.
