This is an excellent bandage for some conditions but probably not suitable for others. I got it to provide stability because I have arthritis and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and it works great for that purpose. It's comfortable and flexible enough to wear all day, every day, unlike most braces that feel tight or get terribly hot after sitting for a long time. This also allows for normal range of motion, but does not allow overstretching or twisting of the knee joint. It has helped a lot with both pain and instability. This bandage probably isn't for you if you have a sprain, swelling, or a complicated tear, but it works great if you're looking for something to wear all the time without irritation. Some reviewers wrote that the Velcro was difficult to attach at the back of the knee. Mine had the loops positioned so the velcro was in the front, but if yours isn't they are easy to pull out and twist. Velcro straps are also removable. I replaced them with elastic velcro straps which are more comfortable for everyday use. I also noticed that on the front closures, the loops have been placed further forward, which provides better protection against over-stretching. I ordered women size, my knee size is 13" and my hip size is 15".
