Poker for Dummies, a great choice for learning how to play poker

This poker DVD will not teach you how to become a world class player; He may not even teach you how to make money, but you will learn how to play poker. So if you want to learn poker rules, basic strategy and poker etiquette then this DVD is a great choice for you. This is the best poker tutorial video I've ever seen. The video consists of 7 segments: Poker Basics, Texas Hold'em, Hold'em Central Strategies, Bluffs, Gestures, World Series Ten Secrets and Home Games. The formatting and presentation of the information is first class. There are useful graphics, well-written dialogue, and easy-to-read maps and counters. Poker Fundamentals provides a general overview of the rules and jargon related to poker. In the Poker Basics section you will learn the difference between "bet" and "check". You will also be shown many different poker hands and taught how they are ranked (ie which hand wins). In the Texas Hold'em section, you play a few hands while the moderators explain the mechanics of the game. Explanations will help you avoid common beginner mistakes, such as B. acting out of turn or the dealer not betting at the beginning of the game. The bluff section is very short. However, the DVD is so simple that it's not very easy to get used to. The Tells sections contain useful information about gambling with other people for real money. The 10 most common tells are displayed. Unlike most poker DVDs, the acting isn't all that bad. The narrations on DVD look like I've seen them in real life. The Top 10 Secrets of World TV Shows section provides a short list of 10 tips. Each tip is read by Chris Moneymaker and recorded on screen. A brief explanation follows after mentioning each tip. The tips are informative and will help you avoid many of the common pitfalls that new players fall into. While the DVD focuses on Texas Hold'em, the home games section covers several other poker variants. Games are shown with real chips and all cards face up. Games Taught: Omaha Hi, 7 Card Stud and 5 Card Draw. This DVD gives the poker dummy a solid foundation that allows him/her to sit down at the poker table and play without asking too many questions or looking. like a complete novice. If you already have a solid idea of how to play the game, this DVD may not be for you.
